WWR Setup

Wooly World is a small rabbitry of about 60 holes. Currently, we are cutting down in numbers. We had just got the carpool set up and everything is in place. =) Instead of the walls the car pool came with, we bought shades for the rabbitry for better ventilation in the hotter months. Here are some pictures I'd like to share of our set up. =)

Ms. Audrey Kitching!

The bunny! This is a very special bunny to me. She had cut off the circulation to her leg at a few days old. Her whole leg turned purple and we didn't expect her to live, the infection was bad. We took her into the vet to be put to sleep, and the doctor said she still had feeling in it. We chose to give her a chance, hoping she isn't suffering. Well, sure enough, she is a couple weeks old, so sweet, has a great personality and is such a SMART bunny! She is deffantly one of my favorites. =) Here are some pictures of her from the other day.

She seems to be getting around on her foot pretty fine. =) It still hurts I belive as she doesn't like it touched too much. God bless her and her leg.

Long Time, No Post...

Hey everyone,

So sorry with the no updates in a while! I've been VERY busy with life lately, hopefully I can get this blog back in gear. ;)

Here are a few updates...

RABBITS:
The rabbits are doing great! Everyone is doing great in the heat and keeping up with it. Breeding is going pretty succsessful, check out my breeding list, we shall have quite a few babies born and for sale in the next few of months. =) I've decided not to focus on the fuzzy lops as of this time, I just do not have the room and focus on them at the moment. ;) As in result, 3/4's of my fuzzy lops are for sale. The few that are staying are mainly going to be pets. I could never give up all of my American Fuzzy Lops. As for the woolies, about 1/2 of the herd is availible and its a GREAT chance to get some nice stock and lines at very low prices! I'm cutting down to about 25 rabbits. ;)

BARN:
We had just bought a 10' X 20' large carport! It is great quality and is almost ready for pictures, we still need to do some more arranging out there. ;)

BABIES:
We do have babies! Here was what was born a couple weeks ago...

WWR Sleepwalker X WWR Pearl- BORN: 7.19.07- 1 broken black doe, 1 black buck.

Wooligans/WWR Ro Sham Bo X Cedar Ridge's Blue Rain- BORN- 7.20.07- 1 chestnut buck, 1 black otter buck.

PFF's Earnhart X AK's Misty also had kindled a litter 7.25.07, but they were two peanuts. =(

BREEDING:
We bred some does the other day! We are exited cause this is our best stock being bred. We will be expecting our FIRST oranges Woolies in a month! How exiting! Let me know if you would like to be on the waiting list. ;)

Solano County Fair- 2007

Long time, no posting! Well, all last week I was at my county fair. =) Very busy, no time to post. ;)

I did fairly good, it was a fun week, seeing fair friends, spending time with the rabbits.

I took BOB with my doe, WWR Sisily, a pointed white jersey wooly junior doe. My friend, RaBecca, took BOSB with her buck WWR Skylar(opal senior buck). Sharing the wins is always nice.

I also took BOB AFL with WWR Carley(orange junior doe), and BOSB with WWR Keasby Nights(fawn junior buck).

I also took home first place senior rabbit showman, and 4th place small animal supreme showmanship. =)

Here are a few pictures at fair I'd like to share... ;)

WWR Sir Mix A Lot

One July 7th, 2007, my doe G.C. Wooligan's Party Girl(black otter, 6 legs) gave birth to 7 kits. There were a variety of colors in this litter, not what I expected either. Shadeds! I bred her to my buck, G.C. WWR Pee Wee. Two of these kits were peanuts, and two vanished at about 5 days old. The three that were left were a black otter, a sable martin, and a siamese sable.

These three kits grew up into beautiful babies. We named the black otter WWR Luxurious, the Sable Sir Mix A Lot, and the Sable Martin renamed nameless. I decided to show them a bit too. All did wonderful, got wonderful comments. Sir Mix A Lot took a BOG and Lux took a few BOSGs, even over her mother. The judges were amaized with the type on these animals and gave props to the breeder. I was really proud of these babies.

One is a really special boy, I traded him to my best friend Dorissa for her doe, Wooligan's Cleopatra, a opal with about 4 legs at the time(currently 5). It was really hard to give Sir up, but we know the trade would both work really well in our breeding programs.

Sir was such a sweet boy, I missed him all the time and regretted trading off everytime I saw him. He just got nicer and nicer. Thinking to myself, "What did I do?!?!"

A few days ago, Dorissa decided to be no longer in rabbits, and as well they really didn't want to take them with the move. I decided to buy the whole herd(about 10 rabbits), and here I got back my baby. Sir Mix A Lot. =) He has developed really nicely, I can't wait to show him on the tables! Here he is...

The story of his name is inspired by the song "Baby Got Back"(Sir Mix A Lot sings this song) which he has a smooth wide hindquarter. What a silly name! LOL.

Some more new bunnies!

We wern't planning on getting anymore bunnies for quite a while, but Dorissa had to sell out due to moving. As a result, I bought her whole herd. Here are a few of the bunnies added into our herd.

LeSage's Shakira- Siamese Sable Senior Doe
We are very proud to be the new owners of Shakira. She is such a beautiful doe with amazing all around type. She has about 6 legs, and 2 Reserve is Shows. We plan on breeding her ASAP. =P

WWR Sir Mix A Lot- Siamese Sable Senior Buck
Wow- I'm sure happy to have him back with me! He has always been a cutie. He has a good personality too. He will be seeing some ladies soon. He is a WWR Pee Wee X Wooligan's Party Girl baby. We sure miss his daddy, we're glad to have him back home. He bloomed into a beautiful boy!

LeSage's Jazzy- Seal Senior Doe
Jazzy is such a sweetheart and we are also glad to have her here too. She has really nice type too, she just needs a little bit better flesh condition. Nice correct wooly head.

There are a few more rabbits, some are molting pretty badly!

Thank you Dorissa, and again so sorry you had to sell your buns. They have a great home here, remember I'm always here if you ever get back in. =)

Every year, Carol Green puts on a HFF Backyard Summer Show in her very own lovely backyard! The show is very calm, relaxing and enjoyable. Our bunnies were molting, sadly, but we did enjoy the show and had lots of fun!
